Good to know

What the care label says

The circle on the label is the sign for professional cleaning. Here is how to read it.

  • Circle with P

Professional dry cleaning with the usual solvents. The most common symbol.

  • Circle with F

Dry cleaning with milder hydrocarbon solvents only. For more delicate fabrics.

  • Circle with W

Professional wet cleaning: with water, but using special programmes and detergents.

  • Crossed-out circle

The garment must not be dry cleaned.

A bar under the circle means a gentle programme. If the label is missing or unreadable, bring the garment in and we will take a look.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is free on orders over €30. We collect your clothes from your address and bring them back clean. For smaller orders, call us and we will tell you the terms.

What is dry cleaning, really?

Cleaning with a solvent instead of water. The solvent lifts grease and dirt without making the fibres swell, so the garment does not shrink or lose its shape. It suits wool, silk, viscose and lined garments.

Which clothes should I bring for dry cleaning?

Suits, jackets, coats, wool and cashmere, silk, and anything lined, padded or embellished. The care label is the safest guide: a circle means professional cleaning.

What should I do with a fresh stain?

Blot it with a dry cloth without rubbing. Do not pour hot water on it and do not iron over it, because heat sets the stain. Bring the garment in as soon as you can and tell us what caused it.

Does every stain come out?

Not always. It depends on the fabric, the type of stain and how long it has been there. Old stains and stains treated at home with heat or strong products are the hardest. We will tell you honestly what to expect before we start.

Why should leather not be washed at home?

Water and ordinary detergents dry leather out: it stiffens, shrinks and loses colour. Leather items are cleaned with a special process and then conditioned.

Can any garment be dyed?

Natural fibres such as cotton, linen, wool, silk and viscose take dye well. Polyester and other synthetics take it poorly. Dyeing goes to a darker colour than the current one, and seams are often sewn with polyester thread that may keep the old colour.

How should I prepare my clothes?

Empty the pockets, show us the stains and mention any tears, loose seams or missing buttons. That way we know what to look out for.

How long does it take and what does it cost?

It depends on the garment and the service. Call us and we will tell you right away.
